Communications Professor wins Daytime Emmy
Houston Community College adjunct professor Sandra Gin
wins her third Daytime Emmy. Gin was a producer of the show Cristina's
Court, which ran for three seasons from 2007 through 2009, and had
won an Emmy for each of the show’s first two seasons. The Daytime Emmy
Awards Show was held in Las Vegas, Sunday, June 27 and was televised
live on CBS.
The win stunned the audience as the show scooped up
its third win in a row in the category of Outstanding Legal/Court show,
originally created for Judge Judy. Although Cristina's Court
had been cancelled, at least one program ran during the qualifying
period.
Throughout her career, Gin has won and been nominated
for a total of 13 Emmy awards and numerous national and state journalism
awards. She is a Communications/Journalism professor at the HCC Central
campus and in the Broadcast Technology department at the HCC Southwest
Stafford Campus.
